Platteville Community Fund Accepting Grant Applications

The Platteville Community Fund is now accepting grant applications for its fall grant cycle.  The application deadline is Friday, September 15, 2017.  Applications must be completed online and submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on Sept 15.  Mailed, emailed or faxed copies of applications and/or incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

In making the grant application announcement, Platteville Community Fund advisory board chair Nathan Curry noted, “The Platteville Community Fund has been awarding grants since 2005.  Our community understands the long-term value of endowment building.  In our initial year of grant making there was one grant of $400 awarded from the Platteville Community Fund.  During our fall 2017 grant cycle we will make awards from the earnings of four endowed funds:  the Platteville Community Fund, the Robert & Marian Graham Community Fund, the Schneller-Tang Community Fund and the Carmen & Eva Beining Community Fund.  We expect to grant nearly $18,000 in earnings generated by these four funds.”

The Platteville Community Fund Advisory Board is particularly interested in applications that support innovative projects for children and families, community access, and sustainability as well as those for events and activities that promote the arts, healthy living and diversity.   Projects or programs provided by charitable non-profits that serve the people within the Platteville School District are eligible for consideration.  Requests from individuals are not eligible.

The application form is available online at the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin website (www.cfsw.org).  Select the “Grants” tab and then “Grants Available.”  Scroll until you find the Platteville Community Fund, Fall entry and then ‘click to apply.’   Completed applications must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm Friday, September 15, 2017.  Mailed, emailed or faxed copies of applications will not be accepted.  If you need help or have questions both CFSW grants and scholarships manager Lannie Troon (lannie@cfsw.org or 800-995-2379) and CFSW donor services rep Barb Daus (barb@cfsw.org or 608-778-3344) are available to assist.
