Larry Barton of Janesville has joined the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin as a Rock County representative.  Barton is a semi-retired attorney who has practiced law in Janesville since 1969.

Barton has a long history of community service.  He was a founder of the Janesville Morning Rotary Club and a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight Midwest.  He has also served on the City of Janesville Liquor Advisory Committee and the boards of the Janesville YMCA and ECHO.  He currently services on the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission and the board of directors of the UW-Rock County Foundation.

Barton is one of six Rock County representatives on the Community Foundation Board of Directors.  The other representatives are Steve Sheiffer, retired Janesville city manager; Steve Olsen, vice president of First National Bank & Trust, Beloit; Laura Carney, nurse practitioner at Whitewater Family Practice; Carol Hatch, attorney with Nowlan & Mouat; and Joe Nemeth, chief operating officer at MercyCare Health Plans.
