Lancaster Community Fund Recognized as Non-Profit of the Year

At its annual banquet held February 7, the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce honored the Lancaster Commu

nity Fund as Non-Profit of the Year.

In making the award, Chamber Executive Director Heather Bontreger noted, “We are honored to present this award to the Lancaster Community Fund.  The award recognizes a non-profit that has demonstrated significant and impactful contributions to the community.  During calendar year 2016, this group awarded grants totaling just over $90,000 to 24 community projects that have made our

community a better place to live, work and play.”

In accepting the award, LCF advisory board chair David Helmke said, “The work we are able to do is the result of gifts made by many, many donors.  On their behalf, we accept this award and challenge you to join in this investment For Good. For Ever. For Lancaster.”

Current Lancaster Community Fund advisory board members include David Helmke, Tabitha Jackering, Sam Jonas, Joe Krantz, Luanne Pink, Crysti Prange, Megan Slane, Kevin Raisbeck, and Bette Steinbrenner.  Rod Roggensack serves as community liaison and historian.
