Lancaster Community Fund Invites Grant Applications

The Lancaster Community Fund is accepting grant applications for the 2017 spring grant cycle.  Deadline for receipt of applications is May 1.

David Helmke, chairman of the Lancaster Community Fund advisory board noted, “Funding during this grant cycle is available from the Lancaster Community Fund Endowment, the Schacht Family Fund, the Morse Family Fund and the newly created Merlet Family Community Endowment Fund.  Our focus is funding projects that serve the residents who reside in the geographic area that is the Lancaster School District.  We are grateful to the many people in our community who have made gifts to these Funds.  The generosity of our community residents has led to grant awards from the above noted funds of over $158,000 between 2000 and 2016.”

Applications for projects or programs that propose practical solutions to current community needs in the areas of the arts, education, historic preservation, and health and human services are highly encouraged. Grant applications must be completed online; access to the application is available by selecting the grants tab on the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin website (  Among the items applicants as asked to provide:  the organization’s federal ID number and a copy of the organization’s most recent 990; background information on the applicant organization; and a full description of the project including goals, audience served and budget.  Note: requests from individuals are not eligible for grant awards.

Applications must be completed online and submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017. A sub-committee of the local volunteer advisory board will review the grant applications and recommend grant awards to the board. Current Lancaster Fund advisory board members include Dave Helmke, Tabitha Jackering, Sam Jonas, Joe Krantz, Luanne Pink, Crysti Prange, Megan Slane, Kevin Raisbeck, and Bette Steinbrenner.
