Crawford County Community Fund Announces Fall Grant Cycle

The Crawford County Community Fund is currently accepting grant applications for its annual grant cycle. The application deadline is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2013. Grant applications must be mailed to the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin office in Janesville, Wisconsin.

The Crawford County Community Fund seeks projects or programs that address current community needs with a focus on economic development. The mission of the Crawford County Community Fund is “to create stronger communities by matching generosity with economic needs.” Projects or programs provided by charitable non-profit organizations or businesses that serve the people within Crawford County and have a strong connection to fulfilling the Crawford County Community Fund mission are eligible for consideration. Requests from individuals are not eligible.

The Grant Review Committee of the Crawford County Community Fund Advisory Board is chaired by Tarasa Lown. In commenting on the 2013 grant cycle, Lown noted “For the 2013-2014 year there is nearly $4500 available for grants for charitable economic development projects within our Crawford County community. In prior years, grants have been awarded for the Hoffman Hall Renovation Project, for the Soldiers Grove Library Expansion Project, to the Friends of the Gays Mills Public Library for a business startup collection, to the Mississippi Valley Conservancy, Inc. for its eco-tourism project, to Community Development Alternatives Inc. for Kickapoo River logjam removal, to the Crawford County Opportunity Center & Gays Mills Community Kitchen project for its Business Expansion Feasibility Study, and to the Wauzeka-Steuben Schools in support of the Reality Check Program. Our grant review committee is anxious to receive the 2013 grant applications. We know that there many great ideas-in-waiting that can increase economic vitality and improve the quality of life in our region; we are prepared to review those ideas and make awards.”

All applications must be received in the Community Fund of Southern Wisconsin (CFSW) Janesville, WI office, no later than 4 p.m. on FRIDAY OCTOBER 11, 2013. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
