Crawford County Community Fund Announces 2014 Leadership Award Recipients

CCCFlogoFNLcircle-CROPPEDSix awards will be presented at the 4th Annual Crawford County Leadership Awards Reception, hosted by the Crawford County Community Fund.   The reception honoring the awardees will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Century Hall in the Village of Wauzeka.  The public is encouraged to attend but must RSVP by Friday, April 18, 2014, to Sharon Murphy, Chair of the Crawford County Community Fund Advisory Board, (608) 624-3409, or smm@fsmail.bradley.edu.

The persons, businesses and/or organizations being honored in their respective categories are

  • Business Development Award –  Allison & Jim Showen and the Stump Dodger Campground & Event Center
  • Above & Beyond Award – Bob Van Hoesen
  • Outstanding Youth Leadership Award – Katelyn Kay Gilman
  • Tourism Award – Sherry Quamme
  • Leadership and Service Awards – Lorie Floyd and to Mary & Don Stirling and the Restorative Justice Program

The Crawford County Community Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a tax-exempt public charity, was established in 2008.  The Fund currently holds an endowment of more than $100,000.  Annually, the Fund seeks grant applications and makes awards to nonprofit groups and organizations who are working to create stronger communities.  Past grant recipients will be present at the reception and will make brief comments about the outcomes achieved as a result of receiving funding from the Crawford County Community Fund.  Additionally, the Crawford County Community Fund organizes and manages the Crawford Markets Care Program.  Information about this important program will be available at the reception.

Community members, organizations, and businesses may make donations to the Crawford County Community Fund by sending a check to Crawford County Community Fund, P.O.
