Crawford County Community Fund Announces 2014 Grant Cycle

The Crawford County Community Fund is now accepting grant applications for its annual grant cycle. The application deadline is Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Applications must be completed online and submitted online no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Mailed, emailed or faxed copies of applications and incomplete or late applications will not be accepted or considered.

The Grant Review Committee of the Crawford County Community Fund Advisory Board is chaired by Tarasa Lown. In making the grant application announcement, Lown noted “For the 2014-2015 year there is up to $5000 available for grants for charitable economic development projects within our Crawford County community. Our grant review committee was very impressed by the grant applications received a year ago. We are anxious to receive this year’s applications. We know that there many great ideas-in-waiting that can increase economic vitality and improve the quality of life in our region; we are prepared to review those ideas and make awards.”

In commenting on the 2014-2015 grant cycle, Crawford County Community Fund advisory board chair Sharon Murphy noted, “We are extremely pleased that the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin has implemented a user-friendly online grant application. The information requested in the online application mirrors that which was requested in prior years’ applications. Lindsey Hulstrom, CFSW grants and scholarship manager, will be available via phone (608-758-0883) or email (lindsey@cfsw.org) to answer questions and assist with online grant completion. Questions may also be directed to our donor services rep, Barb Daus (barb@cfsw.org or 608-778-3344).”

The Crawford County Community Fund seeks projects or programs that address current community needs with a focus on economic development. The mission of the Crawford County Community Fund is “to create stronger communities by matching generosity with economic needs.” Projects or programs provided by charitable non-profit organizations or businesses that serve the people within Crawford County and have a strong connection to fulfilling the Crawford County Community Fund mission as it relates to economic development are eligible for consideration. Requests from individuals are not eligible. Grants are awarded at the December meeting of the Crawford County Board of Supervisors.

Current members of the Crawford County Community Fund Advisory Board are: Craig Anderson, Gerald Boehm, Sasha Dull, Rebecca Eby, Joe Friar, Eric Frydenlund, Jody Harris, Jim Jerde, Tarasa Lown, Sharon Murphy (chair), Camille Smith, and Will Cronin (ex-officio rep).

The application form is available online at the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin website (www.cfsw.org). Select the “Grants” tab and then “Open Grant Applications.” Completed applications must be submitted online by midnight on Wednesday, October 15. Mailed, emailed or faxed copies of applications will not be accepted.
