About the Fund

The New Glarus Community Foundation is a charitable endowment created in 1996 by and for the people of New Glarus. Each year a portion of the Foundation’s earnings are given back to the community in the form of grants supporting the arts, education, health care, youth, elderly programs, the environment, and historic preservation.

The New Glarus Community Foundation is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.

Family of Funds

The following charitable fund has been established to support the donor’s charitable goals for the community:

  • Anonymous II Fund

About our Grants

Once per year the advisory board awards grants to non-profit organizations, the local school district, and/or local government agencies providing charitable programs or projects serving the good of the community. Grants are awarded in November.

Recent Grant Awards

  • New Glarus EMS – Ambulance tablet project
  • Swiss Center – Biergarten specials, music stands and banners
  • Village of New Glarus – prints and tapestry restoration (Chalet of the Golden Fleece)
  • Home of Our Own – Prairie Haus noise abatement materials and installation
  • New Glarus Historical Society – software for museum collection and archiving
  • School District: weighted lab pads, fostering communication for all, annual Wyalusing trip; Stone bones and sticks and star splitters
