In announcing the grant President Rogers noted, “This is an historic moment in the history of this endowment fund and in the history of Cuba City.  Nearly 5 years ago the Chamber of Commerce City of Presidents Committee worked with staff from the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin to establish an endowment to provide ever-lasting support for maintaining our ‘City of Presidents’ slogan and accompanying initiatives.  Since that time the endowment has grown to nearly $75,000.  Those monies will not be expended.  The earnings, however, will be available for projects such as the one this $2000 grant supports – the replacement of our Holiday Lighting.”

In speaking further about the fund, Rogers reported that Joe Goeman, Tim Hazen, Pam Kirschbaum, Jerry Petitgoue, Bob Schink, and chamber president Tom Gile serve with her on the City of Presidents Endowment Fund Committee.   As a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, the endowment fund enjoys IRS 501(c)(3) status, making gifts to it tax deductible, to the extent allowed by law.  The Community Foundation provides administrative, technical and investment support for the Fund – receipting and acknowledging donations; assisting with fund promotion; and providing professional investment management services.

Donations are received throughout the year.  Information about the fund is available at City Hall or online at https://www.cfsw.org/community-funds/cuba-city-city-of-presidents-endowment-fund/.  It is also possible to make donations online at www.cfsw.org or to arrange for an automatic debit to be credited to the fund.

The long term goal of the Cuba City – City of Presidents Endowment Fund is to support projects such as the lettering of the water tower, Veterans Memorial, Presidential Courtyard, Main Street shields and flags as well as new projects that promote and/or enhance the beauty of the City of Presidents (Cuba City).
