Cheryl Mader of Prairie du Chien has joined the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin.  She represents Crawford County.  Mader is a project leader for Community Development Alternatives (CDA), Inc., a consulting firm that assists local governments implementing improvements in their communities and non-profit organizations working to meet their objectives.

Prior to joining CDA, Inc., Mader was chief operations officer at Knapp’s Development Inc.   She served as mayor of Prairie du Chien from 2004 to 2008 and recently completed nine years of service as vice president of the La Crosse Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.  She is the president-elect of the Prairie du Chien Rotary Club.

Mader is the first representative from Crawford County to serve on the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.  The Community Foundation is the parent organization of the Crawford County Community Fund, founded in 2008, and more than 500 other funds created by charitable donors for the benefit of their localities.
