Barb Daus joins CFSW

barb-dausBarbara Daus, of Platteville, has joined the staff of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Daus will serve as the Donor Services Representative for Crawford and Grant counties in Southwest Wisconsin. She will work with community fund boards, organizations, and individual donors to attract and manage charitable gifts and bequests.

Daus comes to the Community Foundation from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from which she recently retired. For 25 years, she worked in a variety of administrative positions at the university, most recently as Executive Director of International Programs.

Daus has had a long affiliation with the Community Foundation. She served two terms on the corporate board of directors from 2001-2007 and was the board chair in 2005-2006. She was elected to the corporate board for a third term in 2010 and was serving as the vice chair at the time of her appointment to the staff. Daus also has been a board member of the Platteville Community Fund and the PHS Scholarship Fund, components of the Community Foundation. She will relinquish all Community Foundation board positions as she assumes her new duties.

“I am excited to dedicate my time and talent to CFSW and particularly to the communities of Southwestern Wisconsin where I live,” said Barb. “The CFSW motto is a reflection of how I will spend my time…helping people to invest in their communities ‘for good, for ever.’”

In addition to her Community Foundation-related activities, Barb has served the Platteville area as a volunteer for the Platteville Main Street program and the Platteville museums. For 18 years she was a member of the Platteville Board of Education. She currently serves as a member of the Platteville Common Council.

The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin works with charitable donors in seven southern Wisconsin counties: Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Rock and Walworth. The Community Foundation holds 15 community funds and more than 550 additional funds established to match personal philanthropy with community need.
